VPD investigating string of armed robberies

VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - The Vicksburg Police Department responded to three armed robberies and one attempted armed robbery in just over an hour early Thursday morning.

Now law enforcement is asking the public for help identifying the robbery suspect in the above surveillance image.

At about 2:19 a.m. Thursday, a man reported he was working after hours on construction at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Clay St., when a man with a gun approached him demanding cash. The suspect reportedly got away with the man's wallet containing an undetermined amount of cash, according to police.

Less than an hour later at about 3:15 a.m., a man riding a bike in the area of Confederate Ave. and Army/Navy Drive was approached by a man with a firearm demanding cash. The victim reported he gave the man an undetermined amount of cash, according to police.

A few minutes later at about 3:27 a.m., a man reported he was walking from a hotel to the Waffle House on N. Frontage Road when he was approached by a male subject with a handgun who demanded cash. The victim reportedly gave the man his wallet and ran to the Waffle House. According to police, the gunman then chased the man into the Waffle House where he continued to rob a patron and attempted to rob the waitress while she was at the register.
