VPD charges 15-year-old in aggravated assault with golf club | Crime

VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - Vicksburg police arrested a 15-year-old at school Friday morning and charged him with aggravated assault.

Police had been searching for the juvenile who they believe hit a 24-year-old man in the head with a golf club fracturing the man’s skull Wednesday night.

Around 7:20 Wednesday night, VPD responded to 2223 Pearl Street where a man said a 15-to 16-year-old hit him in the head with a golf club when he walked outside a residence he was visiting.

The victim reportedly said he didn’t know why the juvenile hit him. The victim suffered a laceration above his eye and was later transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center for a fractured skull.

The victim was listed in stable condition Thursday morning, according to police.
