Man killed in Warren County crash | News

A Louisiana man was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle accident at Highway 61 and Tibs Lane in Warren County.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol around 5:20 p.m. Thursday, a Ford van was traveling west on Tibs Lane and failed to yield the right of way as it attempted to cross Highway 61. A tanker 18-wheeler traveling north on Highway 61 hit the driver door of the van in the intersection.

The driver of the van, 67-year-old Billy Williamson of Delta, La., was transported to River Region Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A passenger in the van, 28-year-old Amber Sartor of Vicksburg, was air lifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing, according to the highway patrol.
