VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - A wind advisory was issued for much of the area Thursday.

The National Weather Service says sustained winds were 20 to 25 mph with occasional gusts of 30 to 40 mph.

In Vicksburg, a portion of the roof of the Battlefield Inn was blown off. Around 30 rooms were affected, but no injuries were reported.

The high winds in Vicksburg also knocked down trees and power lines and at one point left hundreds without power.
